Getting Ready.....

We are so close to meeting our Baby Girl!!! We absolutely cannot wait to meet and hold her!! We have been super busy over the past few months and have been trying to prepare for our daughter's arrival. Here is a quick recap of the past few months.......

In August, my dear friend, Abby Ireland, and her mother-in-law threw me a shower in Douglasville. Here I am with my mom and mother-in-law at the Ireland's home. I am 25 wks and 5 days in this picture.

Also in August, we celebrated our sweet niece, Grace's 2nd Birthday. Here is our attempt at getting all of the nieces and nephews together.

In early September, six of my dear friends from OT school had our annual Friendaversary girls weekend at Lake Lanier Islands. We had a blast catching up on each other's lives. I miss these girls so much! One of my friends, Lindsey, is due just 3 weeks after me with a little girl, too! It has been so fun to get to share our experiences with one another!! I am 30 wks 5 days here.

For September 11th, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield, next to our neighborhood, had a display of 3,000 American flags representing the people who lost their lives in 9/11/01. It was absolutely breathtaking to see all of the flags blowing in the wind and gave us chills. It was a scene I will never forget!

Here I am at 36 weeks.

My mom had her wedding dress turned into a BEAUTIFUL bassinet for Baby Girl! I absolutely love this bassinet and can't wait for Baby Girl to sleep in it!!!

My sweet hubby has been busy putting together baby gear. Here he just finished putting together the crib.

We painted the walls light blue and had sweet Jazzy try out the crib for her baby sister. She approved.


We are almost finished with the nursery. I just have a few more pictures to hang on the walls. We also need to install the car seat (minor detail, right? Paul and I are quite the procrastinators.). We have 2 days until our due date and I am sooo ready to meet our daughter! I'm hoping she takes after her daddy and is punctual, not late like her mommy ;) I will try and post more pictures and updates soon.

Nursery Pics

Here are a few pictures of the nursery. It is not quite complete. I still have a few pictures and her name to hang on the walls. My sweet friend, Laurie, made this beautiful pink wreath for baby girl! I absolutely love it!!

We will put a wall decal with her name on it over the crib.

I have a few pictures I want to hang in the corner, including the 'Peek a Boo, I love you' sign. I also need to find a lamp for the table.

Getting Bigger

Baby Girl and I are getting bigger and warmer by the day! I usually cannot wait for the hot summer sun, but this year, I have been staying out of it as much as possible. We are all doing well and enjoying spending time with friends and family. We had an ultrasound at 19 wks to look at all baby's anatomy and to confirm that she is a girl. We are so thankful to the Lord that she looked healthy and is growing. We are so in love with her and can't wait to meet her in November! I am amazed everyday that the Lord has given us and entrusted us with this precious gift. I have been feeling her move for the past few weeks and it is the most wonderful feeling in the world!!

We just welcomed our new precious niece into the world on July 24th.....Abigail LeeAnn Muchnick!! She is absolutely beautiful and we love her so much already! Matthew is excited about his new role as a Big Brother!

Sweet Abigail

We reached a big milestone today....I am 24 weeks today. I have been looking forward to this day since we found out we were pregnant. 24 weeks marks the "age of viability". I feel like I can breathe a little easier now, but we are still praying that baby girl continues to stay comfy in the womb and grow daily. Paul and I have a lot to do to prepare for her arrival....like working on the nursery, which we have not done yet! Paul also started his "new" job today with the same company after his promotion to Clinical Director of a different clinic. He will continue to see patients but also be in charge of growing the clinic through marketing and planning. With the help of an athletic trainer, they will also be the sports medicine provider for 3 local high schools and a gymnastics organization. Therefore, with the start of football season and the preperation of our little girl, things could get interesting around here. We are so blessed and thankful to the Lord for providing for us and blessing us more than we could ever hope or imagine.

Recap of the last 5 months

The past year has been very busy in the Muchnick household, especially the last 5 months! In January, we bought our first home! A week after moving in we went on a vacation to Hawaii with my family. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been and a lifelong dream of mine. And then we fulfulled another lifelong dream of mine...we learned how to surf! It was so fun......until I got sea sick!! But it was an experience I will never forget and am so grateful for! We also went to the NFL Pro Bowl, Pearl Harbor, whale watching, and to a Hawaiian luau! The weather there was absolutely perfect and it was a vacation we will always remember!

In March, we found out we were expecting a sweet gift from the Lord! We are so excited about becoming parents to this sweet baby and so honored that the Lord would entrust us with this precious blessing!!

We told our parents by making a shirt for Jasmine and letting her run down the stairs to them. Our parents were both shocked!! My mom screamed and started crying. Needless to say, she was super excited about becoming a grandparent for the first time. Paul's parents thought we were getting a new puppy at first! Haha! Then they caught on and realized we were expecting a baby. This will be grandchild #5 for them. For about 5 weeks, my 2 sisters-in-law and I were all pregnant at the same time. Hannah, had a sweet baby boy, Daniel, on April 18th. Jessica is expecting a baby girl, Abigail, in July.

The baby bump is getting bigger. Here it is at 14 wks 5 days. I'm finally starting to get over the first trimester all-day sickness.

On June 2nd, Paul and I had an ultrasound to find out the sex of our baby. We had planned a Gender Reveal Party for June 4th to reveal the sex to our family and friends. Below are some of Paul's coworkers who came to celebrate with us.

My brother drove down from TN to come to the party!! So glad he and his friend/my other brother Jon could make it! Tim has been guessing that sweet baby M is a girl from day one...hence, the pink shirt.

To reveal the sex of the baby, my friend made cupcakes for us and put colored cream cheese in the middle for everyone to bite into. Some friends and family getting their cupcakes...

And everyone eating their cupcake and finding pink in the middle.....IT'S A GIRL!!! As you can see, my mom is shocked! She thought we were having a boy. I love her reaction!

Paul and I are so thrilled and cannot wait to meet our sweet baby Girl in November!! Paul had been guessing girl the whole time and I thought we were having a boy, but I'm so excited about this precious baby girl!!

My dad and I worn out after a long day! So glad our family and friends were able to come to the party and celebrate the life of our daughter!!

Savannah getaway/ July 4th celebration

I guess since our blogs are far and few between, we have to cover multiple topics at once. After I passed my boards, Natalie and I decided to celebrate with a 3 day getaway to the Savannah Bed and Breakfast. Neither one of us had ever stayed in a B/B but our expectations were definitely exceeded. Our room was amazing, the staff was extremely personable, the people we met at each breakfast were interesting and friendly and the breakfast each morning was exceptional. We also enjoyed another interesting perk of this particular bed and breakfast with a night of complimentary wine and cheese before we headed out to dinner as well as milk and homemade cookies before bed each night. The location was also perfect in that we could walk to everything from our front door including the infamous Forsyth Park as well as River street with great restaurants and shopping. We also made time to go visit and relax on the nearby beaches of Tybee Island which was only about a 20 minute drive from Savannah. Needless to say, this turned out to be a perfect getaway/celebration with a great mix of old town Savannah, great food, friendly people and even a day spent relaxing on the beach. We will definitely do this again and would highly recommend The Savannah Bed and Breakfast.

Independence Day Celebration
This year (and hopefully years to come) my dad's company hosted a July 4th celebration at the Georgia Aquarium. Families were invited to enjoy a complimentary tour of the aquarium that afternoon and then to make their way up to the roof of the aquarium to enjoy an evening of food, live music and eventually fireworks all while enjoying the scenic views of Atlanta. The Muchnick family had a blast. We took our time strolling through the different displays and making sure of course that Matthew and Grace could see every animal possible. Once on the roof, we enjoyed great food while Matthew learned to share his toys with his cousin Grace. We really enjoyed meeting other people in the CB&H company as well as spending time with the whole family together. As the night progressed, Matthew appeared to gain energy as Grace slowly progressed toward sleepy time. The night was concluded with an amazing fireworks display over Centennial park.


Like I said, we were in no hurry as you can see here hanging out in the tunnel.
